Jennifer Mendez was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She attended Florida International University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a certificate in Pre-Law Skills and Professional Values. In 2018, she began studying law at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law where she is currently entering her third year of school. During Fall of 2019, Jennifer booked Civil Pre-Trial Practice and was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future award. She also participated in the Trial Advocacy Summer Institute program during Summer of 2019 where she attended a seminar to develop advocacy and trial skills by trying a full case with a trial partner at the Broward County Courthouse. She is a law school Ambassador, Themis representative, and is part of the First Generation Professional Legal Society; Cuban American Bar Association; and Florida Association of Women Lawyers.
Jennifer began interning for Barakat Law during Summer 2020. In her free time, she manages a small business of arts and craft, enjoys working out, and spending time with her family.
